YUMA, Ariz. —  Efrain Miramontes has been working in the agriculture field for more than twenty years.  He works for Sabor Farms as a supervisor and he wants to see the business continue to grow.

Miramontes says he is dedicated to his work not only because he strives to harvest the best product but also because he knows it is the same food his family eats off grocery store shelves.

His crew usually works night shift during this time of year.  He says customers want fresh vegetables shipped and put on grocery store shelves by the morning.  But in the coming days, these workers know cold weather temperatures can potentially damage their vegetables.  Forecasters say there is a chance of ice could harm spinach and other varieties of spring mix in these fields.

This is just one of the many reasons he was recognized today for his dedication to the job.

As a field supervisor for Sabor Farms he was chose by The Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association as the Labor of Love recipient.  The program is put in place to celebrate dedicated farmworkers and to recognize their commitment to the agriculture industry.

Each week one person is chose for the award and the program will continue to recognize more field workers in the coming weeks.
