Hector Urias went missing in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico.

SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Mex.–  A California pastor’s body was discovered in a canal after he went missing on Sunday December 6, 2015. Pastor Hector Urias Garcia, and his wife Alicia, were on a missionary trip to San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico.

Family members say they take this trip to feed needy children and teach in classes during their preaching missions.  The Garcia’s were on this trip from a church out of Mendota, California.

According to family members Garcia left his wife to take their silver 2015 Toyota Corolla to the car wash about 5 p.m. on Sunday, but never returned.

Alicia Garcia reported the car stolen and her husband as a missing person to police in San Luis, Arizona and Mexican authorities in San Luis Rio Colorado.   They have been on the search for the man since his disappearance.  Thursday Garcia’s body was found in the Bacanora Canal southwest of the city.

Mexican authorities say they are still searching for the four door sedan with California license plates: 7-M-J-J-2-3-8.

Similar to calling 9-1-1 for an emergency in the United States; officials with the police department in Mexico recommend calling 0-6-6 in Mexico in case of an emergency.

If you have information you are asked to contact either the San Luis, Mexico or Arizona Police Department.   Arizona’s San Luis Police Department contact is: (928) 341-2420.
