YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Police Department has identified Jesus Nieto as the man they say was held up in an apartment on Avenue B and 4th Place Friday night. YPD tells us he was only arrested for 2 misdemeanor warrants and at this point has not been charged for the standoff or the reports of shots fired that started the entire situation. The report of multiple shots fired came from Magnolia Avenue and 8th Street. Police say they found several shell casings nearby on 7th St. and 19th Ave. At this point YPD has not been able to tell us the motive behind the shooting or if it was gang related, they say it is still under investigation. Police say while investigating the shooting they found Nieto who they thought was involved. When officers tried to contact Nieto they say he fled into that apartment on Avenue B and 4th Place. He came out peacefully and was taken into custody for the 2 warrants, according to police.
