ARIZONA – The Grand Canyon State is now in the top ten states with the worst drivers in the nation. Most of us know Arizona is home to the 6th largest city in the U.S., now our drivers here at home are being ranked the 6th worst drivers in the entire nation.
A recent study by carinsurancecomparison.com says this rank comes from careless driving and failure to obey traffic laws.
Some Arizona officials say other factors should be taken into consideration when looking at these new statistics.
“We do the best that we can state-wide and locally in different communities based on funding. For District 4 in Yuma for Department of Public Safety, you have officers who do more enforcing with limited resources, man-power and equipment,” said Highway Safety Director Alberto Gutier, who is with the governor’s office.
Funding and resources aside, the reason Arizona is ranked 6th is because of the high number of deaths due to careless driving and failure to obey traffic laws.
