YUMA, Ariz. – The American Legion Post 19 is hosting their annual Yuma Veterans Day parade. The purpose is to celebrate and honor our veterans, the legion says this event brings the Yuma community together.
The American Legion says this year there are 127 groups signed up to walk the parade, compared to 112 last year. They are expecting thousands of spectators this year, last year over 5,000 people showed up. Several organizations, local businesses, schools, boy scouts and other groups will be taking part.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday and will be until about 10:45 a.m. the route of the parade starts at 17th place and will head south on 4th avenue to Virginia Drive and end at the American Legion Post 19.
The American Legion will also have a BBQ right after the parade to continue to celebrate all veterans.
